Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a well-researched set of conversational techniques that help the therapist talk to the subconscious mind through the conscious mind without the need for a hypnotic trance.

NLP has its roots in psychology and the study of excellence. It was born 30 years ago from the work of a mathematician, Richard Bandler, and a linguist, John Grinder. They studied some of the world’s greatest communicators to develop an understanding of how linguistic constructs talk directly with the subconscious.

We generally have a narrow view of our current situation, particularly when we are stressed out with problems. Using NLP conversational techniques, the therapist can help you see things in new ways. Problems become manageable, or are no longer problems at all. You may feel that life is defeating you - with NLP, the therapist can help you see that you can take on the world.

Hypnotherapy or NLP?

From the initial consultation, the therapist will decide whether hypnotherapy or NLP, or a combination of both, is appropriate for you.
